TIPS FOR BETTER COMPASS ACCURACY
Phone compasses are sensitive.
If the arrow feels off, try these quick fixes:
- Keep the phone upright — flat phones confuse the sensor
- Walk a few steps — movement helps the compass stabilise
- Avoid metal — stages, speakers, barriers, vehicles, and power banks all interfere
- Don’t hold it near magnets — bags, cases, and battery packs often have them
- Give it a quick figure‑8 motion — this recalibrates most devices
- Check your case — some cases have metal plates that ruin accuracy
- Stay away from big crowds — lots of phones + metal = noisy readings
- Let the app warm up for 2–3 seconds — sensors settle fast but not instantly
And always:
LOOK WHERE YOU’RE GOING!
The arrow points the way —
you still need to steer.
